Limited Support for Mobile Devices

Submitted by C B Wright on

Eviscerati.Org now has limited support for mobile devices. "Limited" because it's still based on the non-mobile theme and the text isn't very optimized for mobile browser viewing. Tablets will probably do OK. Smartphone browsers will still probably not be the best user experience in the world -- you may want to view the site in landscape mode to mitigate some of the issues.

Upcoming Interruption of Schedule

Submitted by C B Wright on

Good morning, happy Monday, ugh. All the basics. An important announcement to start off the week:

I am moving to another state

Early next month (basically a couple weeks from now) I will be moving to Montgomery, Alabama. Preparing for this is pretty distracting: there’s a lot to do, not a lot of time to do it, and I still have to do things like “work” and “earn money,” which is inconvenient.

The move is affecting updates to content on this site

The site itself isn’t moving, but it’s going to be affected by all the time we’re putting into it. Updates will be erratic, and some plans for content will be kicked down the curb as I’m forced to triage my online activities.

Things Will Be Quiet

Submitted by C B Wright on

My DSL is out. It's a long and convoluted story that ends with "I probably won't get service back until Tuesday or Wednesday." Until then, the only Internet Access I have will be from my cell phone.

Don't expect too much around here till then.

Things have been quiet, but that's just a clever ruse.

I know I haven't updated much. There are few reasons for this:

1. I am sick. I am sick and I have no more leave, which means I am working while sick. This makes it very hard to focus on things.

2. I can focus enough to try to solve site-related problems, so I've been trying to get the comic pagers to work the way they used to. Unfortunately, while I can focus enough to try to solve the problems, I can't focus enough to actually solve the problems.

3. The sickness has made it harder for me to string together coherent sentences. Just in case you filigree marsupial banana.

That's all. Sorry for the delays. I am working on stuff.

My SSL Certificate has Expired

Submitted by C B Wright on

I let this sneak up on me... again. If you visit this site, you'll be receiving messages from your browser telling you OH MY GOD THE SSL ON THIS SITE IS UNSIGNED AND UNTRUSTED AND HAXX0RS ARE STEALING YOUR RECEPIES because today my SSL Certificate expired but good.

I've been shopping around for a new SSL provider for a while, but it hasn't been easy. SSL Certificates aren't cheap. I'd been using GoDaddy, and they actually were pretty cheap, but after they decided to support SOPA I really haven't had much enthusiasm for giving them any more money.

I just bought a cert from Comodo but I still have to go through all the registration/tinkering business, and I won't be able to do that until I get home. So... this won't be resolved until later tonight.
