THE BOSS: This is not the way I like to start my conversations.
ALICE: It looks like our marketing blitz isn’t having the impact we’d like for the Nifty Doorways “Uptight Infinity” release.
THE BOSS: What does “isn’t having the impact we’d like” mean?
ALICE: It means we’re not selling. So far we’ve managed to avoid discussing this by releasing vague statements to the press combined with ambiguous yet definitive-sounding statistics, but that won’t work forever.
THE BOSS: Agreed. Even the press can tell when you’re not giving them any real news. Eventually.
