CUSTOMER: Where’s the Start button? I can’t find my Start button.
ALEX: The new version of Nifty Doorways no longer has a Start button.
CUSTOMER: Why? Why would you do that?
ALEX: The Start button is an inefficient and unwieldy remnant of a bygone age. It has outlived its usefulness. Our research tells us that nobody really uses it for much these days, and our Pocket Door user interface is far superior when it comes to grouping applications.
CUSTOMER: But the Start button works.
ALEX: we’re also no longer displaying the letters j, q, x, and z.
