A More Palatable Translation

Comic Transcript

THE BOSS: What is wrong with these web cartoonists? Why won’t they use our online store and kickstart the Ubersoft Doodle Network business model into motion?

ALICE: Like I said, Boss, the successful ones don’t like the Artist Agreement.

THE BOSS: There is nothing wrong with our Artist Agreement.

ALICE: We force them to give up all first publication rights of their comic, demand they publish exclusively to the online Doodle Store, require they hand over any pre-existing domain names associated with their webcomic and only give them a tiny percentage of the profit made from subscriptions.

(Silence.)

ALICE: They are greedy monopolists who rule over the market for their comic with iron fists.

THE BOSS: Ah.
