The Thing You never Say

Comic Transcript

MARK: Oh… King! Um, hey.

KING: Where do you think you’re going?

NARRATOR: NaNoWriMo: Day 27

MARK: I need a break, King. I’ve been writing all month. I can’t take it any more.

KING: I’ve got money riding on this, man. Tell you what: you make the 50,000 word deadline by Thursday, and I’ll cut you in on my take.

MARK: Did you just offer a writer money as an enticement to meet a deadline?

KING: Yes.

(Silence.)

MARK: You do know that drastically reduces the chances the deadline will ever be met, don’t you?

KING: Well I do now.
