ALEX: And?
ALICE: Well, after carefully considering what Massachusetts did, and what its ramifications would be, we needed to find a way to not only keep them from moving forward with these “Open File Format” standards, but also to convince other government groups that it would be unwise to do the same.
ALICE: So we’re going to do something that takes care of both problems at the same time.
ALEX: Do I even need to ask?
ALICE: We’re going to sue them into the Stone Age.
