Good Morning, Bad Judgement

Webcomic Storyline:

PCtown, by Christopher B. Wright

Comic Transcript:

NARRATOR: It was a story I'd heard before: boy meets girl, girl's father hates boy, boy stops coming around. But when both the girl and the father are rich and used to getting their own way, the details of that story can get ugly.

JAKE NERO: Why didn't you go to the police?

APRIL WINESAP: My father is a very influential man, Mr. Nero. When he doesn't want the police to be involved... You're the only chance I have left to learn what happened to him.

JAKE NERO: So let me get this straight: you want me to go against a powerful man who ha influence with the police department in order to determine whether or not he was responsible for the disappearance of your fiancee?

APRIL WINESAP: That's right.

NARRATOR: I should have walked away. I should have told the lady I wasn't interested, that I didn't get involved in family disputes -- not when the family in question owned every cop that walked the beat in my neighborhood. I should have told her I didn't need the trouble.

JAKE NERO: Twenty five dollars a day plus expenses. I'll be in touch.

NARRATOR: I don't do a lot of the things I should.

Black vertical image on right hand side in Firefox

Black image to the left of the right hand advert thingy about the same width and extends for however deep the page is.

Also, the "contact us" link yields a "you are not authorised to see this page" - Very Ubersoft :-)

The black thing...

... is the background for the first column. It's supposed to be there. It's a CSS trick because there's no way to get the 1st column to extend all the way to the bottom unless it has more content than the other two columns.

Unfortunately, it means on smaller pages it extends past the footer.

The contact form currently only works if you're logged in. It'll all be fixed in a few days though, when the other two sites come back online.

Black stuff

I don't think so. All the old comics pane has the black background This one is to the left of it and overwrites some, but not all, of the page content. Where the page appears to be just black text on a white background, like below this box I am typing in it obscures the text.

... can you send me a screenshot of what you're talking about? wrightc -at- ubersoft *dot* net...
