CUSTOMER: Hello Ubersoft? I’m at my wits end. My Nifty Doorways O/S is still crashing every three hours. Isn’t there anything you can do about it?

ALEX: OK. I’ll fix it for you, but promise me you won’t tell anyone.

ALEX: Go into “My Computer” then double-click on the “Crash” icon. Uncheck the box that says “Crash every three hours.”

CUSTOMER: You can’t be serious.

ALEX: If you upgrade to Nifty Doorways 2000, the default is to leave the box unchecked.

For those of you unfamiliar with it–and at this point in time, that may be a great many of you–the comic above came from one of the creators of a very old webcomic called “Down to Earth,” which was set in the day-to-day inner workings of Hell, and with Death hanging out at his favorite bar. It was pretty funny, and sadly it doesn’t appear to be around any more.

We swapped comics for an April Fool’s Day event, and the comic he came up with for me was much funnier than the one I did for him. I liked it so much, I started a storyline off it!

I wish I could point you to the comic’s site, but you’ll have to settle for a few pages still stored on the Wayback Machine.
