You didn't mention the ease

You didn't mention the ease of bookmarking and adding notations to a pBook.

That's because we're relying

That's because we're relying on third-party vendors to supply that functionality.

Can you add an ordinary link

Can you add an ordinary link to the video? Some of us are unable to view embedded stuff (looks like third-party, cross-site shenanigans to secure browsers).

Thanx,
--Bob, who knows to look through page source for the link, but he's lazy that way.

And then there's the whole

And then there's the whole issue with misrepresentation of the form factor. McMannis claims that the pBook is about the same size as the eReader, but that's only when it's secured for transportation. While it's actively deployed in use the form factor practically doubles, which McMannis quickly glosses over as he demonstrates the gestures for navigating through the content. At all other times the pBook is shown only in storage mode. Also, only the storage mode has the high-definition graphics and million-color palette. In reading mode this pBook appears to be text-only. I hope future editions overcome this problem; I look forward to acquiring a pBook of Help Desk in full colour.

Link added, Bob. :)

StJen, Doug McMannis is every bit as real as Alex, Mark, Monk, and Phil. :D

Speaking of Doug, he wants me to say that he considers the collapsable form-factor a feature rather than a bug. But I would expect him to say something like that--developers get defensive about that stuff.

What a ripoff!

I foresee Apple suing you for patent infringement within a week.

Good to know... I was assuming he was your brother-in-law or something ;)

(Also: the blockquote tag renders as raw html - with the angle brackets - in Preview Comment, regardless of Raw or Filtered HTML being selected.  Not sure what happens in the final render as I haven't hit the Save button yet.)

I was able to fix it in your post.

... do you have a "disable rich-text" link under the editing window? That will allow you to enter in your tags by hand. also, assuming you have the rich text editor thing turned on, clicking the " button in the toolbar creates the block quote indent.

I would hear more of this P.A

I would hear more of this P.A.P.E.R. technology you speak of. Talk about next-gen!

Well, thanks a lot.  You have

Well, thanks a lot.  You have provided the measure by which they have revoked my privilidges at work for viewing streaming content.  While watching this video, my manager had to come over to check and see if I was still breathing as I had toppled my chair and was rolling on the floor making these odd wheezing sounds with tears flowing from my eyes.

What made this even more interesting is that I have already purchased a Pay Me Bug! pBook and apparently it was an early prototype that was defective, but serviceable and did not require replacement.  I discussed this with the designer at length, and it was resolved to my satisfaction.  The only thing that would have been better was a newer version that was quality checked and signed off on by the designer.

Thank you,

Typhon Grey

I don't think I realized that the "Text Format" didn't take effect unless the RT editor was disabled. Maybe a tech writer could add a note to that effect to the bullet points below ;)

... maybe, but I think it would require actually modifying the module, which means the next time the module was updated it would go away...
