Waiting for a shoe to drop. Or a boom to be lowered. Or something.

My day job is “government contractor.” This is a little inconvenient at the moment, since it seems likely the government is shutting down on Friday at midnight for an indeterminate length of time.

This means I may be getting a mandatory unpaid vacation starting Monday and lasting until politicians stop being idiots.1

I’m not entirely sure how everything is going to pan out — I may know more in an hour, or in a day. It shouldn’t have any immediate effect on the comic, though if the shutdown lasts for too long money will become an issue and it may be reclassified as an “unnecessary luxury item.”

More information may or may not be forthcoming.

  1. I’m not holding out a lot of hope on that one.
