NaNoWriMo 2007

Submitted by C B Wright on

In only two days it will be time, once again, for National Novel Writing Month. On November 1 hordes of enthusiastic and at least partially-crazed participants will be attempting to churn out 50,000 words in a single month.

I've been doing this since 2003 (though I've only won twice -- once in 2003, and once in 2006) and I plan to do it again this year, so I thought I should post something about it here. This year is going to be kind of tricky -- I'm not really in a position to devote a great deal of time to it at this point, and I don't have any kind of grand project in mind, so it looks like I'm in more danger than ever of this project fizzling halfway through the month. But I'm going to try to fit it in and see how it all shakes out.

I probably won't be doing a running NaNoWriMo storyline like I did last year, but I'll try to post something about it from time to time...

I'm jumping in again this

I'm jumping in again this year, after taking a year off last year. I was WAY too busy last year, and in fact I'm WAY too busy again this year but this year I have a laptop so that helps. Also, I have an idea for a story and that's half the battle right there. Now I just have two days to outline it and do some character developmeholy crap what am I doing wasting my time on here when I need to get to WORK?!?!?!

Go, Chris, Go!

Yay! Get another manuscript done and win one for the Gipper (whoever he was)! We still have dreams of saying we knew you when -- before you became a rich and famous author.

May the Force be with you!

You have a bunch of fans waiting for the next manuscript -- and all of us hope you will get all of your novels published this year! You are supposed to be a rich and famous author -- so may the NaNoWriMo be a time of maximum inspiration and perspiration!

Long time...

This marks over two years since I've been reading Help Desk. I know I started reading before NaNoWriMo 2005.

I'm pretty sure it was before May 2005 that I started reading, since I (kind of) remember reading the comic in high school.

High School???

That sound you hear is my hip shattering. ;)

1st time...

Okay, you got me interested, so I went to the NaNoWriMo site. I'm giving it a go and using it as an excuse to actually start on my idea. Thanks for bringing this to light.

My first year

I first heard about NaNoWriMo last year, from this site. I decided not to do it, as it was my first semester in college, and i didn't want my projects and papers to be distracted from. but this year, i decided to go for it. I have no better chance of making 50,000 words this year as i did last year, but it's a good stress reliever. if I get pissed off at someone at work, I can go home and kill them in writing. lol.

Much thanks!

This is my second year doing NaNo. I wouldn't have heard about it at all if it weren't for this comic, and then I'd be one-point-four-and-counting novels poorer. :-D
